When the cannibals that had eaten Old Peete were brought to Moshoeshoe, he would not have them killed. He had a duty to honour Old Peete, and he did this by arranging a burial ceremony over the bellies of the cannibals. Moshoeshoe and Mobe, the medicine man, took turns blessing the stomachs of the cannibals with medicines, prayers and chants, hoping to release their ancestors so that they would find peace.
